Dr. Ilana Mayer-Hirshfeld was born and raised in Mexico City. She moved with her family to Los Angeles during high school. Afterwards, she moved to Maine for college, where she completed a B.S. in Biochemistry at Bowdoin College. She then went to medical school and completed her master’s in public health at the University of Miami in Florida. She moved to Phoenix for her residency training at Valleywise Health. After finishing residency, she joined the Abrazo Health Network in 2021, working clinically at multiple sites throughout Phoenix. Within the residency, Dr. Mayer serves as the Chair of the Clinical Competency Committee, Chair of the Medical Education Committee, Co-Director of Abrazo Regional Research Day and Chair of the Women in Medicine Committee. In her free time, Dr. Mayer enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband Corbin and dog Rajah.
