Grace Patel
Born in the village of Pinner in England, I grew up mainly in northern New Jersey. One of my first experiences in medicine was as an EMT- a role that I stayed in for over 10 years prior to medical school. After completing my undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, I gained even greater exposure to the medical world through working in NYC at the Hospital for Special Surgery as a clinical research fellow. Following that, I attended medical school at Georgetown University where I was involved in multiple interest groups, served as a student ambassador, and volunteered my time as a healthcare provider at a medical clinic for under-served communities. Outside of academics, I was the co-chair of our medical school class’ social committee! I love getting people together and creating a sense of community.
In my free time, I enjoy any and all outdoor activities, recreational sports, international travel, and exploring local breweries. Anyone up for a spin? I am a certified Spinning® instructor and would love to ride with you!
I am thrilled to be back in sunny Arizona for EM residency where I am joined by my husband, an Air Force officer and engineer, and our Goldendoodle puppy, Yogi! My specific emergency medicine interests include trauma, military flight medicine, EMS, and tactical medicine. During my residency at Abrazo, I am looking forward to building an incredible program with the exposure to high acuity, all EM procedures, and the formation of close relationships with dedicated faculty and co-residents.
